Mt Tapulao

7 of us rode for 40 minutes over rocks to visit the village. Unfortunately the mountain was closed due to recent rain.

The villagers aren't locals. Their home was the slopes of Mt Pinatubo which erupted in the early 90s and they were subsequently relocated to Tapulao.

As with most Filipinos, they are friendly and welcoming and allowed us to traipse through their village, take some photos and have a chat. They live a near subsistence lifestyle. And now I know where all the bamboo BBQ skewers come from! The labour involved doesn't do the time and effort to produce them any justice.
